The third generation image intensifier uses gallium arsenide (GaAs) photocathode, which significantly improves the utilization of night starlight spectrum, has higher sensitivity and quantum efficiency, and can better convert light signals into electronic signal, resulting in clearer images.
Second generation image intensifier: usually uses a multi-alkali photocathode, such as S25 material, and its spectral response range and sensitivity are relatively limited.
The core component of thermal imaging night vision goggles is the infrared detector, which works based on the detection principle of infrared radiation. All objects will radiate infrared rays as long as the temperature is higher than absolute zero (-273.15℃), and the infrared detector can sense these infrared rays. It converts the received infrared radiation into electrical signals to provide a basis for subsequent imaging.
